Lifelong South Wichita Republican Files for State House of Representatives
Wichita, Kan– Lifelong South Wichita Republican, Nick Hoheisel, has announced that he has filed paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office to run for State Representative of the 97th District.
“With the support of friends and family, along with concerned residents in my district, I’ve decided to run for the 97th House District in Wichita. My campaign will focus on Republican values like fiscal responsibility, low taxes, and education.” Hoheisel said.
“I'm concerned about the direction of our state and our district. When politicians in Topeka raised sales taxes among the highest in the nation, I felt obligated to fight for working families and retirees on fixed incomes.” Hoheisel said. “Kansas families cannot afford any more irresponsible tax increases or experiments. We can do better.”
“As a father of children in public schools, as well a taxpayer, I have a vested interest in helping create a school funding plan that is fair for both the student as well as the taxpayer,” Hoheisel says. “These are the problems that Kansans elected their representatives to solve and we feel like they are hiding from the state’s real problems.”
Hoheisel’s campaign team began knocking doors in the district and will continue to do so through August. Nick’s goal is to talk to each one of the 4,500+ Republicans in the 97th District by the August Primary.
Hoheisel is actively involved in his community, serving on the City Council District lV Advisory Board, as well as the board of the Southwest Village Neighborhood Association. He is also a graduate of the Wichita/Sedgwick County Citizens Police Academy.
