Representative Nick Hoheisel Files for Re-Election

Wichita, Kan– State Representative Nick Hoheisel (R-Wichita) has filed paperwork to seek a 2nd term serving the 97th District in the Kansas House of Representatives.

“With the encouragement of friends and support from our family, we have decided to run for re-election in the 97th House District. It has been an honor to serve the people of our District in the Statehouse, and in our community” Hoheisel said.

“I ran for office because of my concern about the direction of our state. This past year we have begun to correct that direction by focusing on lowering taxes, creating high paying jobs, and investing in education, however our work is far from done.” Hoheisel said. “We must continue to fight for the values that the 97th District hold most dear.”

“During the 2019 session, I was proud to support a budget that invested more money into mental health programs, technical education training, and KPERS,” Hoheisel says. “When the Governor decided to veto funding to these important programs, a direct blow to services in Sedgwick County, I stood up and fought back. That's the kind of leadership the 97th District expects, and I'm honored for the opportunity to fight on their behalf.”

Hoheisel currently serves on the Judiciary, Transportation, and Energy Utilities Telecommunications committees in the Legislature.

Hoheisel and his wife Misti currently live in Southwest Wichita with their 2 children. Nick is actively involved in his community, having served on the City Council District lV Advisory Board, as well as the board of the Southwest Village Neighborhood Association. He is also a graduate of the Wichita/Sedgwick County Citizens Police Academy.
